Deadline Extended: Call for Artists

We are still accepting short films to add to the exciting submissions received thus far for the Visual Deflections screening event. The extended deadline is the 17th of August.

Visual Deflections returns as a showcasing opportunity for new and emerging artists working in lens-based imagery. Building on its previous success at the Roxy the project aims to stage a screening to provide an opportunity to engage with contemporary artists working with the moving image.

Work will be selected around the idea of Visual Deflections which infers the interruption of the image through distortions of time, movement, light and space. It may also suggest a manipulation of assumptions and identifications that reverberate between the spectator and the projected image.

Requirements:

- Videos: 5 mins approx. Format pref quicktime on disc. DVDs also accepted.
- Artist’s statement
- SAE for return of work

Deadline 17th of August 2009
